PATTERNS offers reflections on the fragment as a material language. Through the part, we experience the absence of the whole. Minimal in form and yet rich in association, the book is part manual, part primer, and part elegy as it merges the blackened silhouettes of garment patterns with the elegiac prose poem, Clothes, by CP Cavafy. Printed in conjunction with the artist’s exhibition STRONG SILENT TYPE at Driscoll Babcock, New York.
