In 2010 Bart was a Resident Fellow at the Virginia Center for creative Arts in Amherst, Virginia. Her award winning book Ghost Maps began as a documentary process recording the absence and presence of myriad artists preceding her in Studio VA5. Using the encrusted studio floor as a palimpsest she marked sections of the floor with tape, scrubbed the spaces between, and took aerial photographs. In its final form, Ghost Maps merged process with installation, memory with mapping, creating a topographic map of the creative world.
